Join LDI for an informal evening walking tour of The Riverline at Queen’s Wharf Brisbane, led by Philip Klein-Schmidt from CUSP, one of the lead landscape designers for this part of the project.
The Riverline forms a major new section of public realm along the Brisbane River, incorporating new riverside parkland, plazas and pedestrian connections through the Queen’s Wharf precinct.
Philip will walk us through the design, sharing insights into the thinking behind the project, the design process and the challenges involved in delivering such a large and complex public landscape within one of Brisbane’s most significant inner-city developments.
Taking place in the early evening, the tour will give us the opportunity to experience the space in full active mode – with commuters, cyclists, pedestrians, joggers and visitors moving through the precinct. As daylight fades, we’ll also be able to experience the landscape lighting and see how the public realm changes into the evening.
This will be a relaxed, small-group tour, with plenty of opportunity to walk alongside Philip, ask questions and hear some of the stories behind the design, documentation and construction of The Riverline.
Following the tour, members are welcome to continue the evening with dinner and/or drinks at Babblers on the Sky Deck for anyone who would like to join us.
Thanks to Paul Stein of Seed Landscape Design for organising this event.
