LDI is proud to support The Australian Landscape Conference which returns to Melbourne in March 2027, bringing together an international line-up of landscape designers, landscape architects, horticulturists, writers and thinkers for one of Australia’s most significant gatherings of landscape professionals and passionate gardeners.

Held every two years, the ALC offers a rare opportunity to hear from leading practitioners from Australia and around the world, exchange ideas and explore some of the big questions shaping the future of landscapes and gardens.

The theme for ALC27 is Prospect and Refuge – exploring our attraction to places that offer expansive views and possibilities, alongside those that provide shelter, comfort and connection. Extending beyond the physical landscape, the conference will consider what these ideas mean in the context of accelerating climate change, technological advancement and our changing relationship with designed and natural spaces.

The two-day conference on Friday 12 and Saturday 13 March features an impressive international and Australian speaker program, including landscape architects, garden designers, writers and historians from Australia, France, the United States, Mexico, New Zealand and the United Kingdom. LDI will have stand at the conference, and we hope to catch up with members from all over the country during the event.

The wider ALC27 program also includes Coastal and Melbourne City Garden Tours on Thursday 11 March, followed by a selection of workshops on Monday 15 March, offering further opportunities for learning, discussion and inspiration.

Early Career Bursary – Applications Open

For those in the early stages of their landscape career, applications are also open for the ALC27 Early Career Bursary.

The bursary provides sponsored registration to attend the Australian Landscape Conference on 12 and 13 March 2027 and is open to applicants within their first eight years of working in a landscape design-related field, including landscape architecture, horticulture, architecture, ecology and the arts.

Applications close 10 December 2026, with successful applicants advised by 10 January 2027.
