2025 Landscape Design Awards

The LDI National Landscape Design Awards recognise and showcase the very best landscape designers and projects from around Australia each year.

The Landscape Design Institute (LDI) is delighted to announce that entries are now open for the 2025 LDI National Landscape Design Awards. These prestigious Awards shine a spotlight on the outstanding creativity, technical excellence, and design innovation of LDI members from across the country.

Entries Close Thursday 26th June, 2025

Members are invited to enter a broad range of categories, from intimate courtyard and balcony gardens to large rural properties and complex commercial landscapes. The categories reflect the depth and versatility of LDI’s membership, as well as the diverse needs of their clients.

Award Categories:

1. Residential – Courtyard, Rooftop & Balcony
2. Residential – Small Garden (35m²–100m²)*
3. Residential – Mid-size or Large Garden (Residential areas over 100m²)*
4. Residential – Rural or Regional Garden (Over 1000m²)*
5. Plantscape – Courtyard, Rooftop & Balcony
6. Plantscape – Residential
7. Plantscape – Commercial
8. Commercial
9. Emerging Designer
10. Community Contribution
11. Design Documentation
    * Note: sizes refer to the size of the garden area designed rather than the size of the whole property/lot.

Major Awards:

• Emerging Landscape Designer of the Year
• Landscape Designer of the Year – Residential
• Landscape Designer of the Year – Commercial
• Landscape Designer of the Year – Plantscape
• Allan Correy Award – Lifetime Career Award

All entries are assessed individually against a defined set of judging criteria—not in competition with other submissions. This approach ensures that every project meets the required standard and honours all exceptional work and achievement in the field.

To be eligible, you must be a current financial member of LDI (Student, Member, Professional or Registered). All members may submit pro bono projects, and designs can be entered as joint projects if all contributing designers are LDI members. Members who graduated within the last four years may enter the Emerging Designer category.
